Renaître
Collection of upcycled garments
Its year of IB high-school, UWC-USA
2019
The "Renaître" collection consists of reborn garments entirely constructed and sewn using donated clothes as fabrics. These silhouettes express the real importance and genuine beauty of sustainability.
"Renaître" Sustainable Fashion Show took place on April 28th, 2019 in Las Vegas, NM. I was the author, main designer, executor of the entire project. The show featured 4 lines of sustainable clothes made by 4 student designers from my international boarding high-school, UWC-USA, who I taught, supervised. It was the effect of demanding work with numerous challenges that I lead over 6 months. All garments were created from old, ripped, unwanted clothing I gathered during donation at my high-school, which we used as fabric to form new attire. Lines were inspired by student’s particular culture. Through entire process of creating the collection and finally "Renaître" Sustainable Fashion Show itself, I desired to express the hazardous impacts of fashion industry and rise the awareness of the local community how incredibly important environmental sustainability is.
